Our work
Heart in Hand operates through two core programs that address gaps we've identified in healthcare access and education. Each initiative is student-designed, student-led, and student-executed.
Initiative one
We deliver interactive workshops to K-8 students, teaching fundamental health concepts in ways that are engaging, age-appropriate, and memorable. Our curriculum covers hygiene, nutrition, exercise, mental wellness, and disease prevention.
Traditional health education often fails to connect with young students—it's either too clinical or too simplified. We bridge that gap by creating hands-on activities, demonstrations, and games that help children understand how their bodies work and why healthy habits matter.
Each workshop is designed to be accessible to diverse learners and aligned with educational standards.
Hands-on activities and demonstrations that make learning health concepts fun and memorable for young learners.
Curriculum carefully tailored to developmental stages, ensuring learning material is accessible and relevant.
Initiative two
We assemble and deliver care kits to hospitalized patients and those in hospice care. Each kit contains comfort items, practical necessities, and personal touches designed to bring warmth to difficult moments.
Hospital stays can be isolating and uncomfortable. Patients often lack basic comfort items or small luxuries that could improve their experience. Our care kits aim to address both practical needs and emotional wellbeing.
Every kit is assembled with care. We research what different patients may want, coordinate with healthcare facilities to understand specific needs, and include personalized elements to remind recipients that they're not alone.
Each item is chosen based on patient feedback and healthcare provider input to maximize comfort and utility.
Handwritten notes and thoughtful touches that remind patients they're not alone during challenging times.
We start with community needs, then draw on proven practices and firsthand feedback to design our programs.
We establish relationships with schools, hospitals, and organizations to ensure our programs reach those who need them most.
Our trained student volunteers deliver workshops to children, and assemble and deliver care kits to patients in need.
We always gather feedback, measure impact, and continuously improve our programs based on what we learn.
Collaboration amplifies our impact
