Heart in Hand is entirely student-run and relies on the generosity of donors to fund our programs. Every dollar you contribute goes directly toward purchasing supplies for care kits, developing educational materials for workshops, and expanding our reach to serve more people.

Important tax information

Heart in Hand is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are a student-led initiative operating as an informal volunteer group. Donations are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions. Instead, your contribution will be considered a bona-fide gift to Heart in Hand and its student members. This means your donation is treated as a personal gift under IRS regulations, not a charitable donation. For the 2026 tax year, the annual gift tax exclusion is $19,000 per person (or $38,000 if married filing jointly). Gifts below this threshold do not require reporting to the IRS and do not count against your lifetime gift tax exemption.
